Timion is giving the special equipment for free, because the families of the disabled children are very poor. Timion is trying to produce good quality and fully functional equipment at the lowest possible price. The costs are covered by our disability fund, which has its origin in Daniel Meyer's homeless people project. After the homeless people house in Iraq was handed over to the government, we have transformed the fund with agreement of the donors into a disability fund .

To allow Timion to continue to function this way, we are seeking support from the government and donors in the following ways:

1. We are applying to be a supplier of rehabilitation equipment for hospitals and clinics in Nelson Mandela Metropole and Uitenhage areas. This will give us an income which can help towards giving  out equipment for free to poor families. We have therefore started a Closed Coorporation under the name Timion Child Equipment. This is only for the products we sell.

2. Donations are very helpful. We use wood, foam, cloth and different hardware materials. If we get material for free, we can produce the equipment cheaper. Even providing discount for our material procurement will already help a lot! Timion is  partnering with UCSA (United Christian Student Association), which is a registered Non Profit Organisation and donations are therefore tax-deductable in South Africa.

3. Financial support is obviously very welcome. Some ideas of the costs:
R 400 can enable a child to stand (with a standing frame)
R 400 seats a child in a good and comfortable position (special customized chair)
R 600 pays for a side lyer to prevent the child from getting contractures
R 200 pays  our fuel to be able to travel to the clinics

These prices exclude  labour. Anika and Daniel are working as volunteers. They are currently supported by Daniel’s home church in Switzerland and some friends. Unfortunately all living costs are not covered.
Financial support, not just for the project, but also for Anika and Daniel’s living, is highly appreciated.
