| Daniel Meyer
grew up in Münchenstein, close from Basel in Switzerland. He is a
trained Orthopaedic-Technologist (ISPO Cat.2) and has worked since 1998
in different christian humanitarian organisations as a trainer of local
orthopaedic technicians: 1998-2000 he worked with ACORN in Iraq. In the year 2000 he has participated in a discipleship school of YWAM (Youth with a Mission). 2001 he worked with Mercy Ships
in Sierra Leone, where he met Anika. After this, he travelled back to
Iraq and worked with ACORN. In July 2003 he was joined by Anika. |
| In
October 2003, Daniel asked Anika to marry him. In April 2004 they got
married in George, South Africa. 2005 they worked for 3 month with
Mercy Ships in Sierra Leone, before they started a one-year bible study
with YWAM. The bible study was in a distance learning setting, so
Daniel could work part-time in his profession in Basel. In September
2006 they moved to South Africa with the goal to settle here, until God
calls them somewhere else. It was clear for them, that they want to
work with disabled children again. They have chosen Jeffreysbay,
because it is their desire to partner with UCSA (mxp), and because Eastern Cape province has almost no public services for disabled children. |
