Who We Are
Timion is a humanitarian organization based in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa.
Who We Serve
Our work is dedicated to marginalized children with disabilities in the rural areas and townships of South Africa. We help them regardless of religion, origin, ethnicity and gender. Currently we are focusing on the Eastern Cape of South Africa, however, our expertise and products have already been requested across the whole of SA and used in other countries such as India, Jordan, Lesotho, Swaziland and Kyrgyzstan.
What We Do
We produce various assistive equipment to meet the individual needs of children with disabilities.
Our therapists fit the equipment during home visits and instruct and encourage the carers. Our counsellors also visit the carers regularly and help them to face their challenges.
We run holiday camps, where the children are individually cared for whilst the carers are treated to some fun, friendship and practical encouragement.
In therapy and teaching orientated camps, we empower the carers to do simple therapy and daily activities with their children.
We facilitate the opportunity for the children to benefit from Hippotherapy (therapy on the back of a horse).
We work with local hospitals and provide equipment and training.
